Family and Marriage
I love being married. It is a great institution. It gives you the strength and emotional support that can be found nowhere else. It is an insurance policy against fear and loneliness.
With my bias revealed, (and hotly debated by my divorce clients), I must add, marriage is the ultimate commitment and a daily challenge. It is a constant negotiation (especially if both are attorneys) and compromise. It is a delicate balance for unity and preservation of one’s own identity. Still, there is nothing better than finding “The One.”
Janet and I have been married for more than 22 years. I believe our success lies in taking this one day at a time. Each day must be seen as the first and last chance to make this work. I know we love each other, and I believe she even likes me most days.
