Love of historic preservation
The Register Law Office is located in a more than 100-year-old structure. With the help of his friend, Pat Hall, Richard personally designed and constructed an addition to the building and remodeled the interior.
Richard and Janet, who have now been married for more than 22 years, live in Fremont in a home built in 1916. They have spent the last years working to save this classic Arts and Crafts (Mission) style home, personally restoring and remodeling every room. Richard claims the project will be done in his lifetime; others debate him on this point.
In addition, Richard has worked with MainStreet of Fremont to encourage historic preservation in the community, serving on the board and twice as its president.
